Canada to host 2017 World Youth and Student Travel Conference

Montréal, Quebec is set to play host to the 26th edition of the World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC), taking place 26 – 29 September 2017.
Award-winning cuisine, chic shopping, a dynamic arts scene, and a great nightlife make Montréal one of the most sought after destinations in Canada for large meetings and events. A vibrant city with a capacity of 23,000 hotel rooms, Montréal offers the best of both worlds: charming European flair and cutting-edge North American innovation. And thanks to centuries of trade, business and finance, the city has emerged not just as cultural metropolis, but as a world leader in a wide range of business sectors.

WYSTC is the must-attend B2B trade conference for key stakeholders and organisations in youth, student and educational travel. Over 600 participants from more than 350 organisations across the globe come together to network, learn from industry experts, collaborate in business appointments and attend cutting edge seminars.

“This high profile event will further reinforce Canada as the place to travel to amongst the world’s early millennial travel market,” said Jon Mamela, Destination Canada’s Chief Marketing Officer.

“It is truly an honour for Montréal to be selected as the host city for this major conference, particularly in 2017, when the city will be more dynamic than ever as we celebrate its 375th anniversary. There's a lot of buzz around Montréal right now, with people recognizing that Tourisme Montréal and its partners make it easy to do business here and bring a creative approach to organizing conferences and connecting business partners,” said Yves Lalumière, President and CEO of Tourisme Montréal.

Since its inception in 1992, the event of WYSE Travel Confederation, delivers an unparalleled opportunity to meet and do business with the many markets and diverse international organisations that serve today’s students and young independent travellers. The leading event provides buyers with the opportunity to meet with a diverse range of cultural exchange, work and travel, education and study abroad, volunteer and internship providers in one go, under one roof.

Business Events Canada is delighted to welcome the 26th edition of this high profile event given the importance of youth travel, which represents more than 23% of the +1 billion tourists travelling every year.
