What does your Out of Office say about you?

Out of Office replies are an everyday occurrence in the corporate world, and with thousands sent and received every day, Alton Towers Resort has launched a special 20% discount on their Company Fun Day package, to encourage delegates to switch on their Out of Office and head to the Resort for some much needed down time.

In a recent study by Qantas, the airline revealed that 60% of us appreciate receiving more inspiring automatic replies. Whether a smug ‘I’ll be on the beach’ note or a monologue full of wit and banter, these creative Out of Offices certainly inject a little amusement into our working day.

To celebrate the new rate and encourage companies to get their delegates away from their desks, Alton Towers Resort, the ultimate place to get that Out of Office on for, has rounded up the most common auto replies to help delegates decide what their OOO says about them.

The non-existent OOO
This person finds it difficult to switch off from work, and will never use an Out of Office as they will often be checking and responding to emails during their evenings, weekends and even their holidays! Expect 4am emails from this workaholic.

The boaster
Currently soaking up the sun in Mauritius or sipping rum cocktails in the Caribbean, this employee will use their OOO as an opportunity to brag to their colleagues about their upcoming holiday. Expect Instagram posts and Facebook check-ins galore as this culprit jets off around the world.

The Great Read
Full of wit and comedy, these OOO replies are a delight to read and will bring a smile to your day as you trawl through your emails. They may have missed their flight drafting this Out of Office, but it’s worth it for the office kudos right?

The Short and Sweet
Brief and to the point, this person’s automatic response will not shed any clues to their whereabouts. Cue the questions when they return to work…

The ‘Too Much Information’
Dare to read this person’s OOO and before you know it, you will know every detail from how much their holiday cost to where they are eating on the first night and who is feeding the cat in their absence. Sometimes bitter, sometimes sweet, this person likes to share.

The constant OOO
Impossible to pin down, this person is almost always sending OOO replies and you wonder if they every do any work at all.

The aspiring journalist
This person will use their OOO as an opportunity to show off their eloquent writing skills, whether brief or descriptive, expect puns and metaphors throughout.
