BBC Good Food Festive Fayre returns to Hampton Court Palace for second year

BBC Good Food Festive Fayre at Hampton Court Palace
Hampton Court Palace will once again host the BBC Good Food Festive Fayre from 9 – 11 December 2016.
Co-produced by Historic Royal Palaces – the independent charity which cares for Hampton Court Palace – and River Street Events, the atmospheric event is the perfect start to the festive season. Guests can stock up the pantry for Christmas from over 60 stalls including Supreme Sausages, Pig in the Middle, tipples from Pieroth and delicious treats from Churros Garcia and Woodhouse Farm Hog Roast. This year’s show features 33 new stalls including The New York Delhi Company, The Brownie Bar and Nanna’s Christmas Pudding.

The fayre will also see a new Christmas gift section in the historic surroundings of Clock Court, while the BBC Good Food cookery team, including food editor Barney Desmazery, will be running demonstrations of festive dishes in the Tudor Kitchen. Having proven a hit with visitors last year, Paul Kelly’s expert demonstration on how to carve the perfect turkey will also be returning for 2016.

Liz Young, Head of Events at Historic Royal Palaces, says: “We are very much looking forward to the return of the BBC Good Food Festive Fayre at Hampton Court Palace. The atmosphere of the palace with its cobbled courtyards, red brick cloisters and roaring fire in the Tudor Kitchen makes it the perfect location for soaking up the Christmas spirit. Visitors can enjoy festive cookery demonstrations in our beautiful Tudor Kitchen, while the rest of the palace can be explored at their leisure.

“BBC Good Food Festive Fayre visitors will also play their part in ensuring the palace is well maintained and open for all to enjoy, as income raised from commercial activities including private and corporate events is reinvested in conservation, public access and educational activities.”

Laura Biggs, Managing Director of River Street Events, says: “We are delighted to be returning this festive season following on from the success of the Summer Festival and last year’s Festive Fayre. We’ve got exciting new additions this year including twilight shopping and festive entertainment.”
