The ATPI Group and Emirates Golf Tournament to tee off in Dubai

After qualifying rounds across seven countries, this week will see 20 finalists arrive in Dubai for the final of the inaugural ATPI Emirates Global Golf Challenge.
From 1 November the worldwide winners of the regional events, which began in Melbourne in February will swing into action for a two-day Grand Final. The successful international finalists will gather at both The Els Club and the Al Badia Golf Club, giving players two chances to demonstrate their skills across two championship courses.

The tournament finalists, comprising of ATPI Group global clients, will play against each other in a series of individual rounds as well as country pairs. The golfing finale will see a Scotsman represent England, an Englishman go for glory on behalf of Scotland, an American play for Norway and a Mexican try to bring victory to the USA.

For this stage of the tournament, they have introduced the famous ‘golden ball’ and ‘silver ball’ which will feature on day one. Players will be allowed to play the golden ball at any two holes plus an additional two holes chosen by the sponsor to win additional points. Similarly the ‘silver ball’ will be allowed to be played at one hole chosen by players and one hole chosen by the sponsors for additional points awarded for a par, birdie, eagle or albatross.

The tournament will finish with an awards ceremony and gala dinner to be held at the Hyatt Regency hotel on the evening of Wednesday 2 November evening. Whatever the results, the players will enjoy prime networking opportunities with international business peers from various industry sectors as they take to the fairway.

Peter Muller, chief operating officer, the ATPI Group, said: “This tournament has proved itself to be an invaluable global platform for networking and offer those keen golfers from our client base the opportunity to meet on a different playing field. In each location players have had the opportunity to meet, learn, develop business opportunities and play great golf on fantastic courses. Our generous sponsors Emirates have been instrumental in making this happen and we are looking forward to an exciting final.”

Paul Starrs, senior vice president, global sales, Emirates said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the ATPI team to build a truly international tournament. Both businesses operate to bring people together and we look forward to continuing to build on this ethos as we start to plan next year’s tournament.” Delighted with the response from participants the ATPI Group is already in the planning stages of the 2017 Global Tournament.
