Kensington Palace, one of six venues cared for by independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, welcomed 90 luxury event planners and high-end brands yesterday (21 September) for an evening of deliciously different entertaining.
Hosted in collaboration with one of Kensington Palace’s approved catering suppliers, Rhubarb, guests from companies including The Prince’s Trust, BAFTA, Disney, Lillingston, and Banana Split, enjoyed a drinks reception on the western Orangery Lawn, which featured a luxury stretch marquee provided by 10x15.

Rhubarb provided a standing food station-style course to start, with guests able to choose from dishes including Mackerel tartare with samphire and gin compressed cucumber, and Miso glazed lobster, with a sriracha crème fraiche dipping sauce.

Guests were then led into the Orangery, where they were treated to a two-course supper of Beef, Roscoff Onion, Carrot and Ash and a Blood Orange, Yuzu and Lime dessert.

Following dinner, guests moved outside to the eastern Orangery Lawn where a new marquee, a tipi-style tent, had been set up for them to enjoy a selection of after-dinner cocktails.

Alex Donnelly-Palmer, Events and Operations Manager at Kensington Palace, says: “It was fantastic to welcome guests to Kensington Palace last night for an evening of networking and high-end hospitality. The event was the perfect opportunity for guests to experience the various outdoor and indoor event spaces we have available to hire at the palace, and to see how they can be transformed to host truly exquisite events.

“It also provided us with the chance to highlight to guests that by hosting their events with us they can play their part in ensuring Kensington Palace is well maintained and open for all to enjoy. As an independent charity receiving no Government or Crown funding, all income raised from activities including venue hire is reinvested in conservation, public access and education activities.”

Suppliers on the night included Rhubarb (catering), Wild at Heart (flowers), Event Concept (event production), 10x15 (marquees), Great Hire (furniture) and Lilly Sells (photography).
