Travel industry luminaries to participate on MEET National’s town hall panel

A veritable who’s who of travel industry luminaries will participate in an interactive town hall meeting at the close of MEET National 2016. MEET National, organized by the Questex Travel Group, will take place Sept. 7-8, 2016, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Featured panelists include Roger Dow, president and CEO, U.S. Travel Association, Jack Ferguson, principal, JPF Solutions, LLC, Kevin Hinton, CIS, chief excellence officer, Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), and Tammy Kockaya, CMP, director, events and meetings, KPMG, president-elect – MPI, Potomac Chapter. 

Moderated by Mike Lyons, professional speaker, actor, and consultant, the diverse group of distinguished panelists will address subjects such as the new shared economy (with a focus on companies that are disrupting the norms of group business such as Airbnb and Uber), technology, the impact of the presidential election, safety & security, and other pressing matters that affect meeting planners and their respective industries.

The event is expected to draw nearly 1,000 attendees, bringing together meeting and event-planning professionals with 120 leading suppliers representing hotels, resorts, meeting venues, convention and visitors bureaus, technology, event services and promotional and marketing products. 

This year’s event is offering an array of changes from previous seasons including powerhouse education developed in partnership with MPI, SGMP, CIC, IAEE, and DMAI; a brand new venue, and seamless networking and collateral distribution technology by Poken. 

Participating attendees can also participate at no charge in other sessions with topics that run the gamut of industry themes and topics, including risk management, revenue management, venue selection, negotiation, content creation, speaker recruitment and a strong emphasis on technology. Plus the entire education program will provide planners with valuable CEU credits. 

MEET National will offer an innovative conference open to meeting professionals and exhibitors alike, with unlimited networking opportunities including 12-minute, pre-scheduled, one-on-one appointments, an open expo floor, and an exclusive charity reception.
