Middle Temple secures partnership with Joseph Perrier

Middle Temple’s summer pop-up bar with Champagne House of Joseph Perrier
Iconic London venue, Middle Temple, has secured a partnership with the Champagne House of Joseph Perrier. The fizz will now be served as the venue’s house champagne (available for corporate and private events) and during the summer season at an outdoor pop-up bar located in the Fountain Court area of Middle Temple.

Offering a secluded oasis of calm away from the bustle of the city, Londoners can enjoy a chilled glass of the delicious sparkler in the courtyard flanked by historic buildings and quaint mulberry trees. Just a stone’s throw away lie the cobbled streets and classic interiors featured in British television dramas and international blockbusters including Silk, Downton Abbey, Poirot, The Da Vinci Code and  Shakespeare in Love. The nearby award-winning garden provides the perfect spot for outdoor events with over 1,000 square meters of lovingly maintained lawns overlooking the River Thames.  

The exciting new partnership was negotiated by recently appointed head of events and catering Anne Atkinson; utilising over 15 years of hospitality experience and connections spanning 4 and 5 star properties. Atkinson said: “We are thrilled to partner with Joseph Perrier and bring this quality brand exclusively to Middle Temple’s summer pop-up bar for the first time. It’s a fantastic coup for clients as it will be our signature house champagne for events. We will serve the Joseph Perrier Brut NV and the Rose Brut NV, both have wonderful tasting notes.”  

The Joseph Perrier Brut NV offers clean, soft, fruity and round notes and the rose offers delicate red fruit notes, a fine mousse and fresh dry flavours. Open to everyone, patrons can purchase Joseph Perrier at the outdoor pop-up ‘Champagne Bar’ open every Thursday and Friday (weather permitting) from 5.00pm - 9.00pm in Fountain Court. The bar will open from June – July and September 2016, opening is confirmed via social media Twitter #MTpopup and Facebook.  

The pop-up bar menu includes wines, beers and sharing platters including artisan breads, charcuterie board of British cured meats and a cheese board with a variety of local English cheeses.

A selection of crisps, popcorn and salted peanuts are also available.    

Established in 1825 the Champagne House of Joseph Perrier (cousin of Laurent Perrier) built a reputation for creating great value champagnes. The Pithois family have owned the brands since 1888 with Joseph Perrier owning around 21 hectares of vineyards overlooking the Marne river in France. Joseph Perrier ages its champagne in Roman Cellars for a minimum of three years to ensure the round, enjoyable house style.
