Calgary’s new venue and airport expansions

This versatile year-round meeting destination is playing host to an array of events with recent wins including International Play Association 2017 Triennial Conference (550 attendees, 11 – 16 September), International Association of Women Police Annual Training Conference 2018 (700 attendees, 23 – 30 August) and Pentecostal World Conference 2019 (2,700 attendees, 27 – 29 August).

The National Music Centre (NMC)’s new home is set to open in Calgary in summer 2016—and music in Canada will never be the same! The space can host groups of 150-300 people.

The design of NMC's new 160,000 square feet, architecturally-stunning facility, called at Studio Bell, was inspired by resonant instrument vessels and the Canadian landscape, and has already won several architectural design awards.  With five floors of exhibition space dedicated to telling the story of music in Canada, it will be an international hub for music and technology.

Calgary’s downtown is conveniently located within a 20-minute drive from the airport. Consistently ranked as one of the best airports in North America for overall passenger convenience, Calgary International Airport is Alberta’s premier gateway.

The airport is currently undergoing a $2.1 Billion expansion set to be complete by the end of 2016. It includes the construction of a new International Terminal, which will double the airport’s size, adding 22 aircraft gates and two hotels (a Delta and a Westin).
