Author Terry Deary opens Warwick Castle's new Horrible Histories Maze

Children's author Terry Deary has launched the UK's first ever multi-sensory Horrible Histories Maze at Warwick Castle with the help of pupils from local Warwickshire schools.
Terry was busy exploring the new maze with local school children, together with Michael Holland, Warwick Castle's marketing director.  Terry spent his morning navigating time eras such as Measly Middle Ages and Frightening First World War whilst signing books from his collection.

Though inspired by the geometric mazes of the past, the Horrible Histories Maze, is multi-sensory – featuring interactive puzzles, wicker and sandbags as well as being crammed with Terry Deary’s foul facts and Martin Brown’s crazy cartoons. It's aim is to make history fun, real and engaging for all ages.

Terry Deary, author of Horrible Histories, said: “The history in my books is horrible. But to experience it live in Warwick’s maze is most horrible of all. Thrilling but chilling.”
