Andrew Griffiths MP opens '1907' Restaurant at Uttoxeter Racecourse

1907 Restaurant at Uttoxeter Racecourse
Uttoxeter Racecourse has celebrated the official opening of the new panoramic '1907' restaurant, with local MP Andrew Griffiths cutting the ribbon on the new facility. '1907', named after the year that racing first started at Uttoxeter, opened for the first time on the Staffordshire racecourse's biggest day, with the running of the £130,000 Betfred Midlands Grand National.  The restaurant will offer around 270 racegoers the chance to dine in full view of the track for the first time, and will host conferences and events throughout the year.

The design and building work for '1907' has been completed by The Design Works Group, whilst the locally sourced and seasonal menu, designed by Head Chef Emmett Cassidy, includes his famous terrine of duck, roast chicken and artichoke mash, and herb-crusted loin of cod with butter mash.

Executive Director of Uttoxeter Racecourse David MacDonald said, "1907 represents a £600,000 investment in the racecourse, which we are delighted to open to the public today.  It really befits an occasion as big as the Betfred Midlands Grand National and will offer views across the racecourse that racegoers have not been able to enjoy before.  It also offers the flexibility to become a premier events and conference centre, which will be one of the best in Staffordshire."

Andrew Griffiths, Conservative MP for Burton, commented, "I am very impressed with this new restaurant at Uttoxeter Racecourse and the commitment that the business has shown to the local area through this investment.  It will certainly help to enhance the experience of coming racing at Uttoxeter, my congratulations to David MacDonald and his team for delivering what will no doubt be one of the best sporting facilities in the region."
