The city of Cartagena will host for their first year the Cruise Excellence Awards Ceremony

The city of Cartagena (Spain) will host the Gala Ceremony of Cruise Excellence Awards, which will take place on the evening of February 18h at the “Auditorium El Batel” under the Sponsorship of the Cartagena´s Port Authority, Cartagena City Council and BC Agency. The event will bring together the senior executives of the main cruise companies, tour operators, port agents, Mediterranean destinations, travel agents, press, suppliers and companies related to cruise industry.

The Cruise Excellence Awards recognizes the protagonists of this industry in 13 categories. The awards are based on the results of a macro survey to cruise travelers that has been conducted since last October.

Other sponsors include Bags & Go, Spanish Golf Cruises, ASEAM, Autocares Vidal , Cruises Atlantic Islands and Medcruise as supporting organization.

The Cruise Excellence Awards, whose first edition took place in 2008 in Barcelona is a brand and product of Cruises News Media Group, organizer of the International Cruise Summit in Madrid and editor of CruisesNews magazine.  

The promotion of Cartagena as a cruise destination is supported by the commitment of cruise companies and passengers. Thus, the port and the city of Cartagena in 2015 ended last year with the arrival of 151.195 cruise passengers, divided up in 108 calls and forecasting for 2016 a total of 200.000 passengers in 118 vessels.
