Searcys unveils an innovation in Christmas tipples

The Cocoflake
Searcys Restaurant & Champagne Bar at St Pancras International have created the first hybrid drink – a dessert-aperitif, for busy commuters that want a sweet treat and festive tipple in one.
Inspired by decadent desserts and the gentle flurries of snowflakes emanating from the top of the spectacular Christmas tree in the station, the mixologists at Searcys have created a truly indulgent Christmas beverage – The Cocoflake.

The indulgent Cocoflake, sold for £8 a glass, embodies the decadence of St Pancras’ Godiva chocolate infused Bourbon, mixed with the warmth of chocolate liqueur and a kick of Italian espresso along with a dash of cream. Served with its very own sprinkling of snow, white chocolate shavings are designed to look as if snowflakes have freshly fallen onto the glass’ rim.

General Manager at Searcys Restaurant & Champagne Bar at St Pancras, Elton Keka, said: “I love celebrating the Christmas season with delicious food and drink.  I have worked in some amazing bars none more so than Searcys at St Pancras overlooking the magnificent Christmas tree. My enjoyment in taking classic drinks and using a seasonal ‘twist’ to make them extra special has been sparked this year by the wonderful snow fall in the station and the elegant dessert menu in our restaurant.

“What we are offing commuters in the station this year is the chance to start their celebrations with an indulgent treat perfect for washing away those winter blues.”

Matthew Fort, Food Writer and Food Curator at St Pancras International added: 'What is Christmas about if it isn't pleasure, fun and indulgence? The Cocoflake is a splendid invention for just this time of year, whether you need it to brace yourself before Christmas shopping, keeping you going while you’re shopping or as a reward afterwards. Or simply because you want to celebrate, come to that. It's a soul-warming mix of chocolate, bourbon and expresso. And if you want to make it had home, why not use Maker's Mark bourbon?'

Throughout the Christmas period St Pancras International is not only offering a delicious array of cocktails but is extending its shopping hours from 7.30am until 10pm on key dates to allow shoppers extra time to hunt down their perfect presents. The station’s digital advent calendar and online gift guide are packed full of daily offers and promotions from an impressive range of premium retailers including Fortnum & Mason, Jo Malone, John Lewis and MAC Cosmetics.

The Cocoflake is available to order exclusively at Searcys Restaurant & Champagne Bar: Grand Terrace, St Pancras International, Euston Road, London, N1C 4QP
