Question Time live at Troxy

Question Time live at Troxy
BBC One’s political debate programme, Question Time, broadcast a special live programme last night (16th April) from East London’s Troxy. Following the BBC One’s Leaders Debate, which finished at 21.30, host David Dimbleby presented the live discussion from 22.45 – 23.45 with panellists Grant Shapps, Yvette Cooper, Angus Robertson, Jo Swinson, Douglas Carswell and Piers Morgan.

The production staged a whole venue takeover at Troxy, with every space from the Grand Hall right through to the nine backstage dressing rooms and larger breakout rooms front of house utilised. The large touring Question Time set was assembled in the Grand Hall, only possible due to the 14 metre high ceilings.

Daniel Smith, Business Development Manager at Troxy explained: “We have worked with the BBC Question Time team before on the traditional pre-recorded shows but this was our first live encounter! Preparations began to set the scene from 15th April, with the lighting and rigging teams working in the venue to ensure plenty of time for rehearsals. The different spaces within Troxy, striking Grade II listed features and accessibility from Central London make it ideal for a production of this nature.”
