North East's top museum offers room hire rate savings this summer

Guests can party or network at the North East’s leading museum for a fraction of the cost this summer.
The Great North Museum: Hancock, Barras Bridge, Newcastle, is the North East’s leading museum of antiquities and its Living Planet Gallery houses wonders of the natural world, including full- sized models of an elephant and a Great White Shark.

Now, the venue, which is one of the region’s top tourist attractions and event spaces, has announced it is offering bookers a 30 per cent saving for private and corporate functions taking place between August and October.

Sandria Charalambous, senior events coordinator for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, at the Great North Museum: Hancock, said: “The Living Planet Gallery is a fantastic event space for parties of between 50 and 120 people, as it is so versatile.

“Not only does it lend itself to everything from parties to gala dinners, but our award-winning chefs can provide a range of bespoke buffet and formal dining menus to suit any occasion. “We hope this offer will encourage bookers planning an event to come along and view the Gallery at first hand – it really is spectacular.”

The offer will take the cost of room hire for an evening event at the venue from £1,200 to £800 (exc VAT) – a price reduction of £400.
