Grand Canyon West/Hualapai Tourism's 'River Runners' single-day white water rafting 2015 season kicks off in March

Hualapai Tourism's 'River Runners' single-day white water rafting
Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) has announced the opening of the 2015 season for Hualapai River Runners, the only single-day white water rafting adventure on the whole of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon.   The season begins on March 15th and concludes at the end of October and marks the 42nd season of the popular attraction.

Upon embarking at the only point on the river allowing access by foot, trained and experienced River Runner boatmen manoeuvre the sturdy, purpose-built crafts while relating the unique history of the Hualapai people who have inhabited these lands for centuries.   River Runners is consistently rated with a Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor.

Adventurers explore the sheer 1,000 foot walls of the Grand Canyon on the river but with rapid levels ranging from level 3 to level 6, the experience is generally tranquil and suitable for all visitors over the age of eight.   The trip also includes a short (optional) hike up to Travertine Falls, a natural waterfall nestled inside the canyon walls followed by lunch.   The second half of the journey includes a smooth water ride which allows views of the towering canyon from a unique perspective.  Passengers complete their trip with a helicopter flight up from the side of the river to the rim of the Canyon.

After a long day on the water, an overnight stay at the Hualapai Lodge located on the original section of historic Route 66 is a relaxing option.  An oasis in the heart of the Hualapai Nation, the Lodge comprises 60 spacious rooms each with access to the Internet and the full-service Diamond Creek Restaurant.
