Jamaica Tourist Board and Virgin Atlantic Airways reward top booking agents

Exclusive trip to Jamaica for White Affair Beach Gala

On 5 December 2014, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and Virgin Atlantic Airways rewarded the top five Jamaica Travel Specialist agents with an exclusive trip to Jamaica where they were hosted at the elegant White Affair Beach Gala. The group of leading agents were invited to bring a partner for the duration of the trip and were each welcomed at the annual celebration at Secrets Wild Orchid, Montego Bay.

The agents, who represent some of the UK’s top travel agencies, had excelled by booking and logging the most holidays to Jamaica over the past six months. They were flown to Montego Bay courtesy of Virgin Atlantic Airways for the exclusive five-day trip where they joined a group of 50 travel agents from the US and Canada, all of whom represented top Jamaica booking agents. As part of their reward, the agents and their partners were invited to enjoy some of Jamaica’s finest attractions with outdoor activities, special events and site inspections all arranged courtesy of the Jamaica Tourist Board.

At the White Affair Beach Gala, the agents were presented with their bespoke award by Jamaica’s Director of Tourism, Paul Pennicook, who thanked each agent for their loyalty to Jamaica. They enjoyed an extensive buffet featuring flavours from all over the globe and danced late into the night to reggae vibes. In true White Affair tradition, agents were encouraged to dress all in white in celebration of the evening’s theme which also saw fire eaters and floating lanterns entertaining the guests.

During their stay, the group enjoyed tours excursions to iconic locations such as Rose Hall Great House, rafting on the Lethe River and swimming with dolphins at Dolphin Cove or enjoyed a range of spa treatments. The agents, from Virgin Holidays, Sackville Travel, Thorne Travel, Blue Bay Travel and The Holiday Place, were also guests at the new all-inclusive Hyatt Rose Hall property in Montego Bay where they enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and site inspection just days before the luxury all-inclusive properties opened to the public.

Elizabeth Fox, Regional Director UK/Northern Europe for Jamaica Tourist Board said: “The White Affair trip was our way of saying a big thank you for the business that these fantastic agents have given to Jamaica within the last year. We were delighted to host some of the UK’s top-selling agents and we are now looking forward to rewarding top sellers at next year’s celebrations in Jamaica, the Home of All Right.”
