ICC Birmingham wins another new association client

The International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham, part of the NEC Group, will welcome the Museums Association to their purpose built conference centre for the first time next year.
The Museums Association Annual Conference and Exhibition will take place on 5th and 6th November 2015 and is expected to attract 700 delegates. The deal was secured by ICC Account Director, Linda Best who has been at the venue for 15 years and specialises in working with association clients.

The ICC’s location in the heart of Birmingham offers clients and delegates a wealth of opportunity to explore the city and all it has to offer. In this instance Birmingham’s diverse and extensive range of arts and culture is of particular interest, including the collections held in the city's museums. Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery holds the largest collection of Pre-Raphaelite art in the world and Birmingham’s science museum, the Thinktank, has the world’s oldest working steam engine and the UK’s first purpose-built digital planetarium.

Sharon Heal, Head of publications and events, Museums Association said: "The Museums Association Annual Conference and Exhibition goes from strength to strength and we are delighted to be bringing it to Birmingham next year. Museums and galleries across Birmingham and the West Midlands have a lot to offer our delegates and we are looking forward to working with colleagues in the region to put together an exciting and stimulating programme of events and content."

Catherine Newhall-Caiger, Business Development Director for the ICC said:  “We are really looking forward to welcoming the Museums Association to the ICC next year and working in partnership with them to ensure they have a successful event with us. A number of associations have seen a marked increase in delegate numbers when holding their events here and are choosing to extend their contracts with us as a result. We are keen to attract new association clients and relish the opportunity to showcase what the ICC and Birmingham has to offer.”
