Increased capacity at Watford Colosseum

Watford Colosseum, home to live music and entertainment outside London has announced an increase in its capacity following a licensing review of this iconic building.
Most notable is the increased capacity for standing events which, up to today have been limited to a maximum of 1941. With its new licence the venue is now able to host 2441 patrons for standing concerts, 1254 for seated performances and 1350 for hospitality events such as club nights and parties. In addition, with its Forum Restaurant, Café Bar, Grand Lobby Bar and Deco Bar it is able to offer a wealth of hospitality and dining.

Tim Brinkman, Director of the Colosseum states, “the increased capacity afforded by the licensing review makes this great venue an even more enticing proposition for both audiences and promoters. We’re excited at the Colosseum about the opportunities that this affords us, as we look to add to our existing programme of rock and pop talent.”

The Colosseum is looking ahead to the autumn and showcasing its world famous acoustic qualities via an eclectic programme of diverse musical talent, with performances from Level 42, Paul Carrack, 10cc, Dr Hook, Chas and Dave, Dire Straits’ John Illsley, legendary Blues guitarist Steve Cropper, Shakatak, and X Factor winner Sam Bailey to name but a few.

The venue has proved an irresistible draw for audiences and world renowned artists having hosted concerts and performances including One Direction, John Barrowman, Frank Skinner, Plan B, Milton Jones, Jimmy Carr, Sarah Millican, Nigel Kennedy, Jools Holland, Harry Hill, and Professor Green.

Owned by Watford Borough Council. Watford Colosseum is managed by HQ Theatres and Hospitality LTD, the UK’s second largest theatre operator. HQ Theatres and Hospitality LTD’s parent company is Qdos Entertainment, one of the UK’s biggest, broad-based entertainment groups in the UK.
