Manchester's EventCity successfully plays host to the first Manchester based Ideal Home Show

EventCity, the second largest exhibition space outside of London, brought the Ideal Home Show to Manchester for the first time in the shows 106 year history. The three day event brought record breaking crowds of 37,000 (ABC audit Pending), EventCity’s largest crowd to date.

The three day event sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, opened its doors on the 6th June to enormous crowds that wrapped around the whole of EventCity. Here the crowd watched celebrity hosts George Clarke, Melinda Messenger, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Martin Lewis officially cut the ribbon to declare the show open.

The show was split into seven dedicated show areas, from Interiors to Home Improvements, Food & Housewares to Technology, Gardens, Woman and Shopping. Over 300+ exhibitors showcased their products and services within all four halls of EventCity, occupying the entire 28,000 sq metres.

In addition to countless exhibitors the show also is famous for its full scale houses on display. Within EventCity there were four show homes including the Flexible Living House by Fine Design, the HiveHaus, D*Haus & NOA.

Highlights of the event included live demonstrations from all the celebrity ambassadors, TV and industry experts at the Ideal Super Theatre sponsored by Vaillant, Ideal Food & Drink Theatre sponsored by Regina, and the Ideal Advice Centre sponsored by Express Bi-Folding Doors. Visitors also enjoyed food from the Gregg Wallace restaurant sponsored by Regina, The Champagne Bar sponsored by Lexus and the Ideal Gardens Café sponsored by Hydropool.

Andy Orr, managing director of EventCity, said “It was a pleasure to host such an iconic event. We had visitors come from all over the North of England to see the countless exhibitors and demonstrations. Attracting large scale, high profile events such as this demonstrates the diverse appeal and versatility of the space that EventCity offers and strengthens our position as a leading event venue.”
