New Zealand’s All Blacks were among 16 Rugby Union teams to experience the very best in sporting hospitality last week, making Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea Football Club, their base during the final stages of the HSBC World Sevens Series.
Having previously visited Stamford Bridge in 2013, the teams utilised each and every aspect of the venue, staying at the on-site Millennium Hotel, as well as training in the recently refurbished Chelsea Health Club and Spa, which boasts first-class fitness facilities.

The venue was also chosen due to its exceptional food and beverage offering, with healthy and energising menu choices being of utmost importance to top-level athletes. Using the Centenary Hall as a temporary catering facility, Chelsea provided breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, with thousands of dishes served during the duration of the team’s stay at Stamford Bridge, including healthy griddled tuna steaks, roast pan lamb, and grilled sea bass. Buffet-style breakfast and packed lunches were also provided for the 340-strong tour each day.

Simon Hunter, head of venue & brand at Chelsea Football Club, comments: ”We were delighted to host each of the Rugby Sevens Teams during their recent tour and are very proud to share the extensive facilities that our venue has to offer with many other world-class sporting institutions.

‘‘Stamford Bridge was chosen due to its one-stop-shop appeal, offering unrivalled sporting facilities alongside exceptional accommodation and dining experiences. We look forward to welcoming these teams back in the future.’’

Combining hotel bedrooms, adaptable meeting spaces and facilities, a choice of restaurants and an exclusive health club and spa, Chelsea Football Club, London’s most complete venue, is ideal for meetings and events of any kind, with capacity for between 2-1500 guests.
