Calibre announces first virtual-ASIC UHD/4K Video Processor Technology

Enabling outstanding reliable processing, instant switching and scaling to/from UHD/4K video

Calibre has announced the industry’s first virtual-ASIC video processor capable of scaling, switching, enhancing, correcting and converting Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) formats including 4K and WQXGA at compelling price points through efficient implementation.


Calibre’s virtual-ASIC technology is based on Altera field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and will be offered as Calibre Pro-AV products as well as OEM own-label, board-level and full custom options for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This will enable rapid creation of new video products for the professional audiovisual industry as the new UHD video formats become widely adopted.

Poken records 96% revenue growth

Poken the green event platform
Poken, the green event platform, today reveals that is has seen a 96% increase in revenues globally for the period January 2014 to December 2014. This significant growth in sales follows a successful year in 2013 for the company, during which revenues had increased by 40%.
Significant increases in sales for Poken’s comprehensive event management software suite have been recorded throughout the firm’s offices, with the USA, UK and the Middle East leading.  Poken has registered offices in New York, Palo Alto, London, Paris, Lausanne, Sibiu, Johannesburg, Dubai, Riyadh and Mexico.  New subsidiaries or franchised partnerships are planned for 2015, as demand from the medical associations sector in particular has been strong.
