Speakers Corner to provide expert keynotes at The Meetings Show 2019

Leading international speaker bureau Speakers Corner is providing three keynote speakers across three days at The Meetings Show (26  -27 June) at Olympia London.
Proving it’s unrivalled ability to source expert speakers discussing issues pertinent to the events industry and wider sectors, Speakers Corner is providing the main keynote for the pre-show conference on 25 June, as well as the opening slots on the following two show days.

In addition, Nick Gold, MD of Speakers Corner and incoming President of the International Association of Speaker Bureaus, will present on the show floor on Day Two at 11.50 where he will highlight the importance of selecting the right speaker for an event.

With Brexit continuing to dominate headlines, Gerard Lyons will kick off the pre-show conference with an economic assessment of Brexit and, more importantly, its impact on the meetings industry. An economist and author, Gerard is an expert in financial markets and the global economy, and was formerly Boris Johnson’s chief economic advisor.

Former SAS Commander and star of Channel 4’s reality TV drama SAS: Who Dares Wins and Channel 5’s Secrets of the SAS, Colin Maclachlan will open Day One of The Meetings Show with his talk on mental resilience and overcoming challenges like ‘Operation Certain Death’. He’ll share how his mindset has helped him become successful in various roles, with the aim of helping the event professionals in attendance to do the same.

Carl Miller, a pioneering technology researcher and expert in the influence of digital technology on modern society, will kick off the final day of The Meetings Show by explaining why ‘everything you know is wrong’, touching on who is really in control and what oppression and liberation in the digital age really looks like. Carl’s research for his book, The Death of Gods, is incredible and included him living in a political-technology commune and becoming involved in the struggle for control of an online assassination market.

Nick Gold, says: “We are delighted to be working with The Meetings Show to deliver an incredible set of keynote speakers who will share their expert knowledge and insights to inspire those events professionals in attendance to challenge themselves both professionally and personally now and in the future.”
