The Conference and Hospitality Show 2017 launches at The Meetings Show

Conference and Hospitality Show 2016

Visitor numbers to double over next three years

The Conference and Hospitality Show 2017 (CHS) will be officially launched at The Meetings Show today, on stand G700. Building on the 48 per cent rise in visitor numbers achieved for the 2016 show, event organiser CHS Group is announcing some exciting plans for 2017.

Emma Cartmell, CEO, CHS Group said: “2017 will be focused on delivering an increased level of ROI for our exhibitors. We achieved an amazing level of growth in visitor numbers this year and we have already received exhibitor feedback citing a number of fantastic contract wins. Our goal is to deliver the best ROI of any UK show, so to do this we need to keep driving fresh visitors to the show; visitors with buying power, who are genuinely interested in our exhibitors. Our target is to achieve a 30 percent growth in visitor numbers for 2017 – and long term, we plan to double the visitor numbers over the next three years.

“We have also taken the bold move of insisting that 30 percent of exhibitors will be new each year - to ensure the show stays fresh and attractive to returning visitors. We already have 60 companies interested in exhibiting in 2017 – before our official launch this week.”

Other developments include extended opening hours, a refined VIP area, new show experiences and new content and development surrounding the speaker programmes. A creative zone will also be launched - following feedback that visitors are interested in more ‘ideas based’ exhibiting companies.

CHS 2017 will be losing the Cookery Demonstration Area. Cartmell comments: “The Cookery Demonstration Area has been well received in the past, but we felt that it didn’t work as well in our new venue. We’ve always said that the day is ‘business only’ which is why we don’t allow music to be played on stands, or bands to perform in the show; the partying is kept for after the business is done in the way of an after-show party. The Cookery Demonstration Area became too much of a distraction for exhibitors, so we have removed it because we’re committed to giving our exhibitors the best possible experience.”

The Conference and Hospitality Show 2017 will be held on Tuesday 4th April at the first direct Arena, Leeds.
