Make sure you get to mix with them
Taking place at the Frankfurter Messe from 12 to 14 May 2020, IMEX will once again be an exhilarating exhibition with something to inspire and update everyone in the global MICE sector.
There will be over 3,400 exhibitors from at least 170 countries.
But IMEX has now grown into something much more than an exhibition Even before the exhibition opens, the previous day, 11 May, will be EduMonday, totally dedicated to education for all levels of MICE professionals.
Throughout the whole IMEX 2020 event there will be opportunities for visitors to meet suppliers, to get abreast of the latest techniques and ideas and to network with experienced people in this specialised aspect of global business.
The 250 or more networking events will embrace Educational Seminars, Campfires (small informal sessions), an Agency Directors Forum, Expert Clinics, a Research Pod, an Exclusively Corporate get-together and a She Means Business meeting.
Naturally, IMEX 2020 will finish with an unrivalled Gala Dinner, where some of the new friendships and business connections can be cemented in a celebratory environment.
Scientifically valid research conducted by the IMEX Group in partnership with the Meetology® Group has found that face-to-face meetings significantly outperform both video and voice-only when it comes to generating creative ideas.
The results from the Meetology® Laboratory experiments, which were conducted during IMEX in Frankfurt in 2012, clearly demonstrate that working together face-to-face generates more ideas, plus a marginally higher quality and a greater variety of ideas, compared to undertaking the same task either on the phone or via video link.
The GCB German Convention Bureau has announced this year's winners of the German wild cards for IMEX: the event agency Architektur im Dialog (AiD) and event and entertainment agency Fräulein Betty held off a host of competitors with their innovative event concepts.
The launch of a new pre-show education and networking event for corporate buyers, the introduction of a new hosted buyer email service and a new German language seminar programme are just three of the features making up a strong IMEX in Frankfurt 2013.
Analysis of business conducted by buyers at the second edition of IMEX America at the Sands Expo® in Las Vegas last October reveals that buyers placed – or expect to place - $3.3 billion of business as a result of attending the award-winning trade show. The figure is a 17.5% increase on the $2.8 billion achieved at and during the months after the debut show in October 2011 (source: 2011 post-show survey).
