ISES announces first global summit for live events industry

The International Special Events Society (ISES) has today announced the first ever Global Summit for the live events industry, in partnership with VisitScotland Business Events and IMEX.
The summit, which will be held in April 2016, will include a major VIP hosted group attending IMEX Frankfurt before heading on to Scotland for three days of high level debate and networking. Attendees will be senior level event industry professionals from corporate, agency, incentive and sports disciplines from across the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe.

Kevin White CSEP, International President of ISES comments: “This is the first time that an event such as this has taken place and we are grateful for the support of both VisitScotland and IMEX in helping us achieve this ambition. Scotland is a world class destination for events and the perfect location to host such a respected group of industry professionals in 2016.”

VisitScotland is looking to further grow its already strong reputation as a focus for global events and to capitalise on the recent success of major events including the Commonwealth Games, Ryder Cup, MTV Awards and BBC Sports Personality Awards along with numerous other leading business events.  Scotland is also the host destination for the 2015 Meetings & Incentive Forum, which takes place in the capital, Edinburgh.

Head of Business Events at VisitScotland, Neil Brownlee, says: “This event perfectly matches our desire for Scotland to be at the very heart of the global event industry. As well as being able to provide outstanding facilities, service, food and transport Scotland is also working to foster strong relationships across the entire industry. We have a highly valued and active relationship with both ISES and IMEX and are delighted to be hosting this significant event during Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design in 2016.”

VisitScotland recently joined the newly launched Global Partner Program, connecting them with the 5,000 members of ISES worldwide and benefiting from their global event spend of $22 billion.
