London to showcase tech and creative expertise at IMEX Frankfurt

London will celebrate its role as the digital capital of Europe and showcase how event planners can make the most of the city’s vibrant tech scene at a Hi-Tech Tea on the London & Partners stand at IMEX Frankfurt on Wednesday 21 May 2014.

Tech City, the heart of London’s tech sector, has become the biggest cluster in Europe over the last three years, growing out of east London to span the entire capital. At the event London & Partners will explain how meeting planners can harness the dynamism of London’s thriving tech cluster. They will also give an overview of how tech events are evolving and showcase the digital credentials of venues across the city. Tey Mossadeghi from London tech business Blitz Communications will join the discussion and highlight how organisers can incorporate innovative technology to make their events a success.

Gordon Innes, chief executive of London & Partners, will be speaking at the Politicians Forum-Global Exchange at IMEX Frankfurt. He said: “London has seen a huge uplift in the number of tech events taking place in the capital. We know this is down to London being a booming tech centre in Europe, the experience this brings for delegates, as well as the quality and connectivity of our convention centres and venues.”

A key moment in the drive to position London as the tech capital of the world will be the city’s inaugural London Technology Week taking place from June 16 to 20. Brought together by London & Partners, UBM Live and ExCeL London, the event will provide an unrivalled opportunity to showcase the city’s technology expertise. It will see some of the world’s biggest tech companies share the stage with home-grown London start-ups as thousands travel to the capital for large international conferences, showcasing workshops, face-to-face investor meetings, and energetic hackathons.

At IMEX Frankfurt, London & Partners will also host its first ever creative coaching sessions to help inspire planners to consider new ways to host their event and inject innovative thinking into their meeting and incentive programmes. London & Partners’ team will work with visitors to the stand to introduce distinctive solutions which will ensure their future events are at the cutting edge.

Barbara Jamison, Head of Business Development Europe at London & Partners, commented: “London has always been at the vanguard of innovative thinking, but we’re now seeing an even greater injection of creativity in the city that we want to use to inspire planners looking for new and bespoke solutions. London has on its doorstep the knowledge, expertise and connections needed to ensure events in the capital are at the forefront. This, alongside London’s stunning event spaces, hotels and restaurants, makes our ever-changing capital the perfect event destination. London & Partners looks forward to showcasing the very best of our city with over 20 of our partners on stand F400 at IMEX Frankfurt.”

The Hi-Tech Tea will take place from 3.30pm-4pm on Wednesday 21 May.
