Unique partnership formed for Christmas 2014

LSO St Luke’s and Moving Venue have announced a new partnership for 2014’s Christmas season whereby the two organisations will promote the Grade I listed venue for upscale events.
The partnership marks a change in direction of the venue’s management of their Christmas offering and, for the first time since opening in 2003, enables clients to book the venue directly. This exciting venture will be promoted by both parties to their existing client bases as well as attracting other potential guests from The City and in the nearby Silicon Roundabout area.

Construction gets underway on Exhibition Centre Liverpool

Work is underway on a world-class exhibition centre and hotel on Liverpool’s waterfront

Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, visited the construction site of the £40m Exhibition Centre Liverpool and £26m integrated hotel at Kings Dock today (Monday 17 February). He was joined at the site by Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool; David McDonnell, chairman of ACC Liverpool; and Alan McCarthy-Wyper, managing director of ISG Construction, to see the scheme beginning to take shape.

Madame Tussauds London welcomed couples and industry professionals including representatives from Parabis, AOK Events and Wedgewood Britain to its very first ‘Loved Up’ pop-up restaurant on Friday 14th February.
On arrival guests enjoyed scented rose petal martinis and canapés including Devils and Angels on horseback in the Party reception room. Surrounded by A-List stars including Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, it wasn’t long before guests were taking selfies and striking poses alongside their favourite celebrities.

The Sustainable Events Summit eliminates badge wastage by using the RefTech Entry System

The Sustainable Event Summit has completely eliminated badge wastage by using RefTech’s industry-leading fast-track entry system. It is estimated that around half of badges mailed out before an event are wasted, but the RefTech system eliminates all wastage by emailing attendees a unique barcode which they bring to the event on their smartphone, have it scanned and then the badge is printed on demand in a matter of seconds

Research report proves that fun aids business

Study commissioned by Alton Towers Resort

New research released last week, undertaken by post-graduate business students at Sheffield Hallam University, has proven fun is a key influence for successful work related learning.
  The report, commissioned by Alton Towers Resort, brings together results from a survey of over 100 employees from small start-ups through to large, established organisations. The questions were chosen following a focus group, which identified key elements, factors and perceptions associated with work related learning.
