Major medical workshop bid win for Perth

Broome, Western Australia was recently confirmed as the host destination for the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) Workshop on Wnt Signalling in 2014. A first for Australia, the workshop is anticipated to bring together 200 delegates and an estimated value of $500,000 in direct delegate expenditure into the region.

2014 Brings new convention business to Las Vegas

The Las Vegas economy is expected to receive a multi-million dollar boost this year thanks to the addition of new convention business and the return of rotating shows. The American Library Association’s annual conference and exhibition, American Wind Energy Association’s WINDPOWER and Solar Power International are all scheduled to take place in Las Vegas in 2014 for the first time. These three new shows are expected to bring an estimated 50,000 attendees generating nearly $63 million in local non-gaming economic impact. The destination will also welcome 70 new conventions of at least 500 attendees each during 2014, bringing an estimated 100,000 additional delegates to Las Vegas.

South America’s hottest city to host World Travel Awards

World Travel Awards (WTA), the “Oscars of the travel industry”, has unveiled plans to host its South & Central America Gala Ceremony in the historic city of Quito, Ecuador on August 9th 2014.
The who’s who of Latin American travel will attend the VIP ceremony to celebrate and acknowledge their achievements over the past twelve months.

Tickets for London’s newest attraction, the ArcelorMittal Orbit, are now on sale, ahead of its reopening on 5 April 2014.

At 114.5 metres, the ArcelorMittal Orbit is the UK’s tallest sculpture offering a totally new perspective of London and unrivalled views of its newest, must-see destination: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. With two spacious viewing platforms at 76 and 80 metres, visitors can see over 20 miles across London: the City to the west, Crystal Palace to the south and Alexandra Palace to the north.

Emirates Old Trafford – One year on and 20% up

On the 28th February 2013 Lancashire County Cricket Club signed a sponsorship deal with Emirates, reported at the time to be the biggest naming rights deal ever signed in County Cricket. This partnership has enabled the club to create and evolve a bespoke business to business venue brand with a blue chip partner that has seen business grow by 20% and achieve their highest revenue figures yet for conferences and events.
