Lime Venue Portfolio Launch Health & Wellbeing Boot Camp Weekend

Lime Venue Portfolio is kicking off 2019 with a weekend Boot Camp for the meetings and events industry. The initiative is supported by World Obesity’s Healthy Venue campaign and takes place during National Obesity Awareness Week (14th – 20th Jan 19), as well as ‘Harrison’s Journey’, set up by Kerry Wright, Head of Group Sales at Lime Venue Portfolio, and her son Harrison, which inspires and supports children and their families who struggle with their weight.

Well Met strategy focus for 2019 following strong performance

Well Met, the conferencing office of Leeds Beckett University, sets out its strategy for 2019, following a strong performance in 2018.  
Clare Vidler, conference manager at Well Met, said: “Last year was something of a litmus test for us, particularly our standalone conference venue, Cloth Hall Court, which celebrated its first year in business during August 2018, following a £4.5m redevelopment.

The Jockey Club extends agreement with Keith Prowse as official Investec Derby Festival hospitality supplier

The Jockey Club has extended its agreement with Keith Prowse as official hospitality supplier at the Investec Derby Festival for an additional five years.
Epsom Downs Racecourse has been a venue for the sport of horse racing since the 17th Century, with the first running of the Oaks taking place in 1779 and the Derby a year later.

Koh Samui survives Tropical Storm intact

Hotels, ferries & airports return to business as usual
No casualties were reported on the popular tourist island of Koh Samui as Tropical Storm Pabuk passed through the Gulf of Thailand on Friday and dissipated as it hit the mainland.  
Ferry boat services from Suratthani to Samui recommenced on Saturday after a two-day suspension due to safety concerns. Normal operations also resumed on 5 January to and from Samui Airport.
