Business Events Canada hosts its Annual Flagship Canada Week Event

Destination Canada’s Business Events Canada team (BEC), charged with growing Canada’s share of international business events, and their partners, returned to Europe this week for their annual roadshows designed to promote the country’s world class meeting, conventions & incentive travel offerings to local meetings and incentive planners.

The educational networking forum in London, attended by 80 event professionals and 10 Canada partners, was hosted at Canada House on Tuesday 17 September and provided attendees with networking opportunities and practical advice on holding events in Canada whilst updating them on all the latest news and developments, from airlines, venues, new hotels and incentives options.

The evening event, kicked off with a presentation on Canada followed by an event activation where guests were given a “Canada Passport” to navigate their way successfully around Canada by meeting the partners, learning about their product offering and discussing their latest updates.

Putting the spotlight on the technology angle, one of Canada’s key economic sectors, Ryan Holowaty, Chief Operations Officer of Noodlecake Studios, the renowned indie game publisher and developers of the world famous Super Stickman Golf series joined the event as keynote speaker.

Commenting on the evening event, Alana Buchanan, Business Development Manager from Black Tomato Agency said: “Having attended the Business Events Canada PreFAM to Whistler and Incentive Canada last June, I was really taken aback by the sheer level of detail that went into this event delivery for suppliers and agencies alike. I knew Canada would quickly find a very special place in my heart, but after this trip, I was hooked; so much so, that I returned a mere 5 weeks later on a personal holiday!”

Buchanan went on to say, “I was delighted to catch up with so many of my peers at the Canada House event, the BEC attendees have so quickly become such great pals due to our shared love of all that Canada has to offer. It was great to hear “what’s up” in Canada right now and prepare for the incentive delivery season ahead!”

Emma Cashmore, the European representative for Business Events Canada, commented: “From the ease of access and great range of airlift to our world class venues and facilities, the packed, year-round calendar of events and festivals, and leadership across a variety of innovative industries, Canada is a natural choice for holding international events for European clients. With an ever evolving and dynamic industry, our Canada Week roadshow events act as a ‘one stop shop’ and creates the perfect platform where buyers, meeting and incentive planners can hear more about our offering, explore our destinations and find the inspiration for their next meeting or event”.
