This year the event will be moving to a new, larger venue – Westminster’s QEII Centre – to accommodate a bigger main plenary stage and more breakout spaces for experiential sessions. This Can Happen will also be launching a brand-new awards ceremony for the brand, to celebrate excellence in workplace health.
Building upon the success of the 2018 event, This Can Happen will delve further into the wide variety of topics surrounding workplace mental health. Among the confirmed speakers for the event so far are author, chef and Great British Bake-Off winner Nadiya Hussain and Amandip Sidhu, founder of the mental health charity Doctors in Distress.
Zoe Sinclair, Founder of This Can Happen, said: “This Can Happen is solution-focused, so we hope that our delegates will get real value from attending and gain practical skills to implement in their own workplaces. This year, we needed to look into a bigger space to accommodate demand, and QEII ticks all the boxes and provide a great blank canvas for our vision.
“We work with sponsors and partners who champion workplace mental health for their teams, and so it is only right that we work with a venue which takes care of their staff, like QEII. After all, the events industry is rated as one of the most high-stress working environments. It's also great to work with teams as passionate as we are when it comes to ensuring all the little details about our event will be taken care of. We are very honoured to have received overwhelming support on This Can Happen and, therefore, have also held more spaces in anticipation of growth in 2020!”
“We are also delighted and tremendously proud to have won the Best New Conference Launch award from the Conference Awards 2019 (announced 5 July). Furthermore, we have been awarded runner-up for UK Conference of the Year which is exciting for a new event which was just launched.
Diane Waldron, sales and marketing director at QEII, said: “Mental health in the workplace has really come under the spotlight in recent years and its fantastic to see an event like This Can Happen tackling the issue head-on. It’s a topic I personally believe is crucial to address in the events industry, and I’m delighted that they have chosen the QEII Centre as their new venue. We look forward to working closely with the team to help the event continue to grow.”
