Celebrating May the 4th, visitors were welcomed to the new venue, which can accommodate up to 80 guests for seated dinners and 120 for standing events, with 1970’s inspired Singapore Sling and Harvey Wallbanger cocktails in the Marvel movie zone, alongside franchise favourites Captain America and Iron Man. They were then treated to a private screening of a Marvel Super Heroes 4D movie before exploring the Star Wars experience.
Guests later indulged in an imaginative array of canapés including Mini Beef Wellingtons and mushroom and tarragon vol au vents before enjoying a sumptuous 1977 style three-course dinner, hosted in Jabba the Hutt’s Throne Room, courtesy of award-winning caterers Food by Dish.
Inspired by the decade which saw the release of the first Star Wars movie, the menu featured a themed 1970’s meal of deconstructed prawn cocktail, with Bloody Mary salsa served in cantina style mess tins followed by duck a l’orange, pomme puree, wilted spinach and French beans. To round the evening off, guests were wowed with bubbling tiramisu and treated to delicious Brandy Alexander digestifs; all the while the Cantina Band was on hand to keep guests entertained throughout dinner with their catchy tunes.
Samantha Burton, senior events manager at Merlin Events London commented, “It’s fantastic to see our brand new event space come to life and on such an iconic day for film. Movies at Madame Tussauds celebrates some of the most memorable characters in sci-fi history and will bring a whole new immersive element to our event offering.”
