Canal Mills Leeds hosts exclusive launch party as they move into the events sector

Canal Mills
Canal Mills, a former disused textile mill in Leeds invited local businesses to an exclusive event yesterday, Tuesday 19th April, marking the beginning of their journey into the events sector. Having opened in 2012 as a creative arts, food and music venue following a substantial refurbishment project, the venue has now launched as a space to hire for corporate events in Leeds.

Around 100 guests came along to experience the impressive setting, with its stunning backdrop of red and gold Victorian brickwork, high ceilings and exposed beams. The space was set up to illustrate the potential for clients to hold a variety of events from conferences, seminars and corporate dinners through to weddings and Christmas parties.

Situated just a ten minute car journey from Leeds railway station, Canal Mills has a maximum capacity of 1,400 for a standing event or party night. The capacity for seated events is 300 – 350 people, depending on the table set up, with the additional option of up to six street food vendors inside the venue. This constantly developing space also caters for outdoor events, with a large area able to accommodate a marquee along with wooden decking and seating. The addition of up to 10 street food vendors in the outdoor area makes it a desirable option for clients looking to host summer events and BBQs in the city.

Matt Long, Venue & Events Manager, at Canal Mills commented: “With four successful years under our belt as a music and arts venue, and having already hosted companies such as Spotify and Red Bull, we’re now officially launching Canal Mills as a multi-functional events space, which we hope will be a great addition to the events scene in Leeds. The launch night has provided us with the opportunity to showcase our offering and we’ve had a brilliant response from the people who have visited tonight. We are now looking forward to welcoming businesses from Yorkshire and around the UK to make Canal Mills their venue of choice.”

Jessica Peacock, Senior Events Executive at DWF LLP attended the event, specifically to experience the venue as a place for corporate events.  Jessica commented: “The team at Canal Mills produced an excellent launch event.  It's a really unique venue with a lot of flexibility for a wide range of events and definitely worth considering adding to our roster."
