The Monocle’s Quality of Life conference to take place in Vienna

Following the Austrian capital’s recognition as one of the best cities in the world for quality of life in Monocle’s annual Quality of Life survey, global affairs and lifestyle magazine Monocle will host a conference in Vienna this April 2016, devoted to the topic of ‘Making Better Cities’.
Held at the historic Palais Ferstel, keynote speakers from across the world will hold a range of talks covering everything from mindful architecture and the future of communications, to the latest mobility trends.

Taking place over the course of a weekend (15th -17th April) ,The Monocle Quality of Life Conference promises stimulating discussions, inspiring conversation and the very best in Viennese hospitality.

The event is only the second in series, following a successful premiere in Lisbon in 2015. An ongoing cooperation between the Vienna Tourist Board and Monocle was instrumental in bringing the 2016 edition to the Austrian capital. Following the presentation of a new 40-page Vienna City Survey by Vienna Tourist Board Managing Director Norbert Kettner and Monocle editor-in-chief Tyler Brûlé in February 2016, a new Vienna guide will also be published in April 2016 as part of the Monocle Travel Guide series.

“Our cooperation with Monocle has enabled us to directly reach out to a highly-educated target group comprising travel enthusiasts with significant disposable income, and showcase Vienna’s charms. In this respect you could say that Vienna, as a premium destination, and Monocle, as a strong international brand, were made for each other,” says Vienna Tourist Board Managing Director Norbert Kettner.
