The latest booking data collated by the startup also found a 12% increase in average budgets and little variation in lead times with Christmas bookings starting in January and the majority (86%) made between June and October.
For the second year the 10th and 11th December are the most sought after dates this festive season whilst unique spaces have proved to be the most popular, with venues such as Shakespeare’s Globe and Carousel in London receiving the most enquiries.
Ruth Fussell, senior venue expert at Hire Space commented on the results, “We always urge people to book early if they want to secure their dream venue and date, but we also don’t want them to despair if they’ve left it late; you can still create a great party even at this late stage, you just have to be more flexible.”
Edward Poland, COO says, “We’ve had a great year at Hire Space, expanding to three new locations and also growing the team so we are really pleased that our hard work shows in these results. It’s also a really positive sign that budgets are increasing, there’s been a slow and steady uplift since the recession and this shows a confidence in the market. Christmas parties are an excellent way to say thank you and reward your team for their hard work, so it’s great to see companies willing to spend a bit more.”
