Ireland Meets the West End

David Boyce, Deputy Head of Great Britain, Tourism Ireland
Over 60 meetings and events buyers joined ‘Meet in Ireland’ last Friday for the destination’s annual ‘Ireland Meets the West End’ event. The workshop style meeting will see buyers do business with the best of Ireland’s M&E product before spending an evening at the theatre.

The format continues to grow following the success of last year’s event which saw over 50 meetings professionals take a closer look at Ireland. This year organisations, representing the wide diversity of Ireland’s meetings and events product, will host event buyers from across the UK.

The meeting will be based at the stunning Corinthia Hotel in London’s West End. After the formalities of the workshop guests will be able to choose between trips to see showings of ‘Gypsy’ or ‘Beautiful’, the Carole King musical, before a nightcap back at the hotel.

“The UK is such an important market for Ireland and we find this format gives us the chance to both do business and have some fun in the capital together with our customers,” comments David Boyce, Deputy Head of Great Britain, Tourism Ireland. “We’ve got some amazing venues, DMC’s and destinations on show. Last year we did some great business so we’re looking to build on these relationships again this year.”
