Olympia London’s modern spaces are a magnet for new shows

More shows than ever are taking to Olympia London’s West and Central spaces to launch or expand in, according to the venue’s latest figures. The number of newcomer shows - defined as brand new or relocating shows - to the two spaces has increased by 60% this year. The new crop includes shows from world-leading event organisers such as Live Nation and Easyfairs as well as from pioneering young organisers breaking into new markets.

At Olympia West there has been a 200% growth year on year for the number of new events, each using the space in unique ways. The Packaging Innovations Show will utilise Olympia West and Olympia Central as one connecting space from 16 to 17 September. The Easyfairs event relocated from the Business Design Centre Islington to allow for an enhanced visitor experience and to accommodate more show features and exhibitors.

Alison Church, UK Packaging Portfolio Event Director at Easyfairs, said: “Olympia Central and West comprise a new, beautiful modern venue all on one level for Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2015. We are very excited about this move and what this means for the show’s continued expansion.”

At Olympia Central, which has recently benefited from a new private function room for 80 and refurbished catering facilities, new events demonstrate the versatility of the space. Vape Jam, the first e-cigarette convention of its kind in the UK welcomed manufacturers, vendors and vapers from around the world to learn the latest innovations. CEO and organiser, twenty-five year old Amir Saeed, said, “It was a great event attracting around 4000 visitors and 120 exhibitors, which was our target. We are looking into hosting the event at Olympia London again next year.”

On 30 June, Olympia Central will host the Digital Education Show. The Terrapinn show makes its UK debut at Olympia London after editions in the Middle East and Asia. Last weekend’s BeautyCon (23 May) brought bloggers and beauty fans together at Olympia West for the first UK edition of the live event from the USA.
