Sustainable Events Summit announces 2015 date and new alliance

Positive Impact and Smyle, the organisers of the Sustainable Events Summit, have announced the date and venue for the 2015 event, and a new partnership with the UK’s leading event for the meetings and conference sector, The Meetings Show.
The Sustainable Events Summit, which is now in its third successful year, will be taking place on Monday 6 July 2015 at the QEII Centre in London.  The timing for this year’s event coincides with the 2015 Meetings Show, which opens its doors from 7-9 July at Olympia.

Commenting on the announcement, Rick Stainton, Managing Director of Smyle said:  “The Sustainable Events Summit provides a unique platform for brands and organisers to network, debate and develop their strategies for achieving a sustainable events culture within their company.  Our new partnership with The Meetings Show will also enable us to extend our dialogue in the important meetings and conference sector.”

Adding to this, Fiona Pelham, Managing Director of Positive Impact said:  “We are delighted to be working alongside The Meetings Show in 2015.  Sustainability is increasingly becoming an important goal for brands and event organisers in their business activity.  This year’s Summit will focus in particular on the issues and opportunities facing meetings professionals working towards sustainability.  The corporate and client organiser-led content will provide delegates with a unique insight based on real expertise and experiences from both speakers and fellow attendees.”

Steve Knight, The Meetings Show’s Event Director commented: “This partnership will be of huge benefit to attendees of both events.  Sustainability is a key issue for both the supply and demand sides of the meetings industry and is of particular interest to the many hosted buyers attending The Meetings Show.  The Sustainable Events Summit has established itself as the leading event for those seeking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of this issue and we are excited by the opportunities this exclusive partnership brings to both organisations.  In particular we are looking forward to hosting the Summit’s delegates, providing travel and accommodation for those wishing to attend both events.”
