Prestigious North East venue launches meetings and events facilities

The Grade II listed venue ‘The Witham’ in Barnard Castle is to unveil its meetings and events facilities next month, which offer spaces for up to 250 delegates.
Following a major re-development project, in which the historic building was restored and transformed into a fully accessible modern venue, The Witham now boasts two meeting spaces and a 250 capacity entertainment space suitable for a variety of uses such as exhibitions, seminars, training days and workshops.

Built in 1846 for the benefit of the local community with money raised by public subscription and to commemorate local landowner Henry Witham, the building is now a centre for culture, community and commerce.

On Tuesday 3 February, The Witham will officially launch the meeting and event facilities with an open day; attendees can choose from a morning or afternoon session with both including a tour of The Witham’s meeting and event spaces, a sample of refreshments, lunch and function menus and an opportunity to meet the team to discuss any event or meeting requirements.

Katy Taylor, Operations and Programme Manager, The Witham commented: “The Witham is a great place for a meeting away from the office or to hold a business event. The building is Wi-Fi enabled and has a full range of AV equipment, a perfect blend of high-end technology in a building full of heritage and character.”

Open Day: The Witham, Tuesday 3rd February, 11am – 1:30pm or 12:30pm – 3pm
