Ed Sheeran played an exclusive show at Coronation Street The Tour last night as part of Key 103’s 40th birthday celebrations

The Manchester based radio station took advantage of the limited time only opportunity to hold an event at the truly unique venue by inviting 150 listeners to the exclusive performance. Guests to the show were able to enjoy a tour of the interior sets, such as the Rovers Return, the Duckworth’s and the Platt’s, in Sound Stage One before heading over to Carla’s living room to watch Ed Sheeran perform his latest hits including the current number one Sing.

Key 103 breakfast presenters Mike & Chelsea said: “Key 103 is so important to Manchester, we really wanted a great celebration for our 40th and having Ed on the most famous street in Britain has just been awesome.”

Coronation Street The Tour opened in April for a six month period and has since been offering fans of the show the chance to host their events at this unique venue. It has already played host to a number of corporate events and has recently been granted a license to hold weddings.

Sophy Ringland, Corporate and Groups Sales Executive at Coronation Street The Tour said: “We were really excited that Key 103 chose Coronation Street The Tour as the venue to celebrate its 40th birthday. Holding an event here really is a once in a lifetime opportunity – I mean you will never see Ed Sheeran perform from Carla’s living room again!”

Private hire of Coronation Street The Tour is available outside usual opening hours for anything from breakfast meetings in the former Breeze Theatre, now the Crew Kitchen, to drinks and canapés or an evening of entertainment and fine dining in Sound Stage One.
