De Vere Venues West One
De Vere Venues West One, located in the heart of London, just minutes from Regent Street, this week hosted a raft of gathered journalists and politicians in an exclusive live screening of the  highly publicised debate between the Liberal Democrats and UKIP regarding the European Union, providing the official media HQ for the event.

Journalists, including Sky News’ Kay Burley and BBC’s Norman Smith, watched the political exchange from a private screening area set up in the Cambridge Suite at West One, which is located just a stone’s throw from the iconic BBC Broadcasting House. Additional meeting rooms provided a base for gathered MP’s from both parties to watch the debate. Senior political figures in attendance included Danny Alexander and John Redwood.

National media institutions including BBC News 24, Sky News, ITN and LBC Radio utilised West Ones’ central event space Café Vibe, with live news broadcasts being transmitted pre and post event into homes nationwide.

Nick Grimaldi, General Manager of De Vere Venues West One commented; ‘’It was an absolute honour to play host to a collection of the most prolific figures in both the UK media and political sectors. The entire team at De Vere Venues is proud to have played a part in such a hugely significant event in the political calendar. It was as ever, a pleasure to work with the BBC.’’

Following the debate, key figures from the Liberal Democrat and UKIP parties, along with audience members, descended upon West One from BBC Radio Theatre to meet gathered media and share their thoughts on the debate via series of interviews and Q&A sessions.
