Houston hosts World Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine Conference

The American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and the City of Houston are proud to host the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) World Conference on Acupuncture.  An integrative medicine theme has been added to the traditional acupuncture conference along with special guest, integrative medicine physician and author, Dr. Andrew Weil; offering a platform for Eastern medicine to meet with Western medicine.  Other important keynote speakers invited to present are Dr. Boli Zhang, Dr. Baoyan Liu and Dr. Lorenzo Cohen.

Approximately 1,000 distinguish traditional Chinese and Western medical physicians, practitioners, clinicians, researchers, and academicians are expected to attend this intellectual symposium offered for the first time in the Southern USA region.  All individuals with an interest in acupuncture and integrative medicine are invited to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentation.  Abstract submission deadline is May 15, 2014.

Host Committee Chairperson, Angelia Guinara says, “We believe the collaboration of Oriental and Western medicines will yield a great number of advances and breakthroughs in the treatment of illness, resulting in better health care for all.”  WFAS Houston 2014 will be held on October 31 – November 2, 2014, at the newly renovated Royal Sonesta Hotel in Houston, Texas, USA.
