Conferences and events at Twickenham Stadium will now be able to access significantly increased bandwidth with the installation of a new dedicated 100MB line specifically for non-match day business.  This new development, which has seen over 50 kilometres of Cat 6A Cabling (allowing future data throughput speeds of up to 10GB) installed at the Home of England Rugby, is part of a wider £75m modernisation plan ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The 100MBB dedicated line will allow event organisers to leverage live-streaming and hybrid components of their events, while delegates attending conferences and events throughout the stadium will enjoy high speed Wi-Fi access for browsing, social media, email and more.

Chris Morris, Managing Director of Twickenham Experience, comments: “Connectivity and high speed Wi-Fi is increasingly a fundamental element of conferences and events.  Organisers want the ability to stream content and engage extended audiences, while also employing a range of interactive tools for live audience engagement on the day through interactive tools and tablets. With our new dedicated bandwidth, we are ensuring that events at Twickenham stay ahead of the game.”

Rob Brumell, Conference & Events Operations Manager, adds: “The new line has the capacity for synchronous data upload and download speeds of up to 100MB per second. With 5500 ports within our bespoke South Stand conference and events facilities this has more than doubled our capability at Twickenham. We have seen an influx of requests for faster connection, whether it is for video streaming or online gaming and we can now deliver this important service to our clients and their audiences”.
