The team at Coventry University Health Design & Technology Institute (HDTI) will be attending the UK’s largest conference and exhibition dedicated to showcasing products to help people maintain their independence.

Naidex National is the leading homecare, disability and rehabilitation event in the UK which is a platform to highlight a comprehensive range of products and services that are available to help people live more independently.

In 2013, Naidex attracted over 10,000 visitors, 3,600 health and social care workers and over 1,000 retailers.

Expert staff from HDTI are attending the show, at the NEC in Birmingham from Tuesday, April 29 to Thursday, May 1, which gives professionals and businesses from the healthcare sector and the general public the opportunity to evaluate the latest products and services available to improve daily living.

Guy Smallman, commercial development director at HDTI said this was the seventh successive year HDTI was attending the three-day show.

He said: “We come to Naidex every year as it attracts inventors, health and social care professionals and companies looking for design and usability support to help them commercialise their idea.

“We are always keen to hear from businesses, entrepreneurs and inventors who have an idea for a product which might help people maintain an active, independent life.

“The halls are always buzzing with people talking about their latest product ideas in a whole host of areas from children’s equipment and furniture to leisure and sports and access equipment.

“This is an industry which is constantly growing and HDTI provides support in helping take innovative ideas closer to reality with the expertise we provide in the form of product and app design and independent usability studies.

“Attending Naidex is an ideal platform to showcase our services, network and talk to SMEs, inventors and entrepreneurs and give them independent advice and we are very much looking forward to attending once again.”

HDTI will be on stand C50 at Naidex.
