Follow GB Davis Cup stars to La Manga Club this summer

La Manga Club helped inspire Great Britain’s men to an epic Davis Cup victory over America this month and tennis lovers can experience the same five-star treatment at Spain’s flagship resort with a range of tempting packages in 2014.

Britain’s elite players, including Davis Cup team members Colin Fleming and Dominic Inglot, prepared for their memorable world group win – the first time they have beaten the United States since 1935 – with a warm-weather training camp at La Manga Club before Christmas.

While many parts of the UK have suffered their wettest January since records began, the award-winning resort in Murcia has enjoyed temperatures of up to 21 degrees, seven degrees above the seasonal average, and fans of the game can enjoy a three-night tennis break from just €243 per person (approx £200).

The official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and boasting facilities including a 28-court tennis academy, La Manga Club is the ideal place to improve your game and visitors can take advantage of fantastic value this year, with accommodation including two hours’ court hire or a 45-minute lesson available from only €81 (approx £67) per person per night.

As well as tennis, the eye-catching daily rates include accommodation in La Manga Club’s fully serviced, four-star Las Lomas Village apartments, breakfast and access to the luxury spa featuring fitness centre, indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms.

Players seeking a touch of luxury during their visit can stay in the resort’s five-star Principe Felipe Hotel and enjoy the same privileges from €292.5 per person (approx £245) for a three-night stay.

And if guests fancy taking a break from the court for a day, they can exchange their session for another activity including a round of golf on one of La Manga Club’s three championship courses or dinner at the one the restaurants around the resort.

Prices for the Best Tennis and More packages include VAT and are based on two people sharing a twin or double room.

Featuring a tennis academy including 20 clay courts, four hard courts and four on artificial grass, La Manga Club boasts some of the best facilities in Europe and British stars including Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, Laura Robson and Tim Henman  have all used the resort to train over the last decade. It has also been used to stage Davis Cup and Fed Cup matches.

In addition, the venue offers unrivalled facilities as a sport and leisure resort including three 18-hole championship golf courses and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
