Butlins Events announces an incredible year with 22% increase in business

Butlins Events (the meetings and events commodity within Butlins) has a lot to be happy about this January as they announce a 22% per cent increase in business over 2013. Not only was the year a success compared to previous years, but 2013 also saw corporate meetings and events more than double throughout the twelve months reaching new sectors including pharmaceutical, banking, retail and manufacturing.

This remarkable increase in revenue has been attributed to the targeting of core products towards the corporate events market and a campaign to drive awareness of the Butlins Events product throughout the UK. Encompassing three resorts Butlins Events welcomed an impressive array of UK brands on site in 2013 including Waitrose, Hasbro, Activision and MG.  

Business growth has also been attributed to the £200,000 investment into the Bognor Regis Shoreline Conference Centre in 2013, a move which dramatically improved the resort’s conference and events facilities, putting it firmly on the map for event planners and companies.  

The brand is expecting an equally exciting 2014 with the growth of their dedicated events team confirmed, and new products and developments underway. Initiatives include exclusive hire of its three resorts at Bognor, Minehead and Skegness, and with 83% of conference bookings currently taking advantage of Butlins’ team building facilities, an array of new team building packages will also feature at all three sites.  

Simon Jones, National Sales Manager at Butlins Events concluded, ‘2013 has been a fantastic year, seeing some of the best results for Butlins Events ever, with a number of corporate clients now starting to take our offering more seriously. Site visits are the key in converting our business - if clients are able to invest some time and see for themselves what the resorts have to offer, how we can add value plus a little Butlins fun to their event, they almost always confirm – it’s definitely a perception changing exercise for them.’
