Travelport, a leading Travel Commerce Platform and Selectair have today announced a multiyear renewal agreement which will see the consortium continue to its technology services and an unrivalled choice of travel content. Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2017, the Selectair consortium of independent travel agencies is based in Belgium and now has over 115 members to inspire and create more tailored itineraries to suit its customers.

This renewed partnership means that Selectair travel consultants will continue to use Travelport’s industry-leading point of sale solution, Travelport Smartpoint, to drive conversion and book travel through fast, intelligent search beyond rate and availability, across all touchpoints. Smartpoint, which was recently upgraded to boost agent efficiency, provides extensive content from over 400 airlines, including branded fares and ancillaries such as baggage options, meals or lounge passes from both network and low cost carriers. Selectair travel consultants can also access more than 650,000 hotels and 36,000 car rental distributors and conveniently add hotel and car rental bookings from within their preferred workflow without having to research websites of numerous travel providers.

Pieter Demuynck, President of Selectair commented: “We have been impressed by Travelport’s innovation and the investment it has made in its technology. This partnership renewal with Travelport as our preferred GDS partner strengthens the existing relationship between the two companies. We see that Travelport is pushing forward with new ideas and innovations to make our business stronger and it is hugely important that our consultants can continue to deploy new technology that drives their performance and empowers them to offer customers a broader range of content more efficiently.”

Simon Ferguson, Managing Director, Northern Europe, at Travelport said: “We’re thrilled that Selectair has chosen Travelport once again as its technology partner and look forward to continuing our relationship with the company, which has been a significant player in the Belgian travel industry for many years.”
