The agreement will see Clarity use Cvent’s platform to grow its hotel request for proposal (RFP) programme for business travellers as well as in the MICE sector, to deliver increased efficiencies and savings to customers.
The TMC - the UK’s eighth biggest following its merger with Portman last year - will now be in a position to build stronger hotel programmes for clients, negotiate directly with properties, ensure rate integrity and create an enhanced experience for travellers.
Cvent’s tech allows hotels to use and publish data to GDSs and OTA websites, without the need for manual processes. By automating these systems, hotels can cut the time spent on the RFP (request for proposal) process in half.
Colin Birchenough, Head of Commercial at Clarity, says: “It is important for our business to identify and use leading technologies that improve the services we provide to our hotel supplier partners and help significantly grow our hotel programme, all of which benefits our clients.
“Delivering the best in market rates and products is an essential part of our business model and the partnership with Cvent will speed up processes while ensuring accuracy of information, enabling us to further improve our competitive position.”
Cvent’s sourcing platform will be used by Clarity for both transient business travel and MICE travel in the UK and internationally.
The deal was announced following a full-scale market review by Clarity to find the best tech solutions for its business.
