Exceptionally easy access is another big selling point of this little, landlocked island in the heart of Europe. Switzerland is easy to reach from anywhere in the world thanks to extensive flight connections from its five international airports.

Our cities have some of the world’s shortest airport transfers. In Geneva for example it takes only 6 minutes to get from the airport to the city centre with public transport. If your destination is further afield your journey is part of the experience as you travel past the most stunning scenery in style on a public transport network that is the envy of the world.

Gault Millau Switzerland and sponsor, Carl F. Bucherer, have named the iconic Zurich hotel, The Dolder Grand, ‘Hotel of the Year 2016'. In an official ceremony held on August 31st, the luxury hotel was awarded the prestigious title by Sascha Moeri, CEO of Carl F. Bucherer, and Urs Heller, chief editor of Gault Millau Switzerland.

Beau-Rivage Palace, Lausanne to welcome new General Manager

From 1 September 2015, the iconic Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne will welcome Nathalie Seiler-Hayez as their new General Manager.    Nathalie Seiler-Hayez previously managed The Connaught, one of London’s finest hotels in Mayfair since 2010. After her graduation at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Nathalie travelled and honed her professional skills in hotel groups such as Rosewood Hotels in New York and in Paris Le Lutetia and the Hôtel du Louvre, gaining a wealth of experience along the way.

Lausanne venues invest in green initiatives

The Five star Beau-Rivage Palace
The four star Hotel de la Paix in Lausanne is the latest venue in the city to invest in sustainable initiatives. Following a switch to LED lighting throughout the site, the Hotel de la Paix has reduced its lighting-related electricity consumption by 82%.  
Lausanne has seen a number of its venues and hotels invest in energy saving and green initiatives over the last 12 months, including the installation of energy-generating photovoltaic cells at the SwissTech Convention Centre along with investment in an energy efficient heating system at the Hotel Continental Lausanne.
