Livio Goetz to assume responsibility for Australia/New Zealand for Switzerland Tourism

Livio Goetz to be the new Market Manager Australia/New Zealand for Switzerland Tourism (ST). Goetz, the current Head of the Switzerland Convention and Incentive Bureau (SCIB) in London, is switching function and continent and will assume his new position in July.

Although the Australia, New Zealand and Oceania Region is small for Switzerland Tourism, it is nevertheless a key market with major potential. Travellers from Australia in particular are high- spending and avid tourists whose preferred destinations include Europe and Switzerland.
In 2017, 365,000 hotel overnight stays were registered from the entire region, which represents excellent growth of 13% compared with the previous year. By 2020, ST expects this figure to increase further by up to 19%.

ST’s activities in Australia/New Zealand are primarily targeted at travellers aged over 50, who often spend several weeks in Europe, spending an average of CHF 260 per day in Switzerland. A meeting tourism expert for Australia

Livio Goetz, the current Head of the Switzerland Convention and Incentive Bureau (SCIB) in London, will succeed Mark Wettstein in Sydney.
Seasoned tourism expert Goetz started his career at the Switzerland Travel Centre during an internship after receiving his BSc in Tourism. Management positions in the meetings field followed at Lucerne Tourism and at Worldwide Events in London.

2015 Goetz started at ST to head up the SCIB in London, where he received the industry award “Supplier of the Year” (APP Events & Awards) in recognition of his work in 2018.

Goetz will be contributing his meeting, marketing and sales experience as Market Manager Australia/New Zealand from 1 July 2019.
